Jean-Luc Wehinger
Guitar player, composer, writer
Jean-Luc Wehinger is a true artist in every sense of the term: he is first and foremost a guitar player who often takes on artisan carpentry, and also dabbles in other chord instruments. At his hands the guitar, mandolin, violin, piano, counter bass and all sorts of instruments and weird utensils susceptible of producing sounds become a feast for the eye and a pleasure to listen to!!
With passion, he brings all musical styles to life, adapts joyously to all situations, and plays freely with different bands welcoming that freedom and opportunity for improvisation. He embraces meeting new people and making friends with musicians from all horizons and diverse ethnicities.
He knows his guitars like the back of his hands, knows how to get the best sound out of them by playing, scraping, pinching, caressing them. Its a love story between a musician and its instruments that started at the age of 13.
His guitars are his best friends, and are the cornerstone of his creations; they range from classic, jazz, folk to electric. Each one has helped him create a collection of eclectic ballads whose sounds feature diverse influences of styles and rhythms.
Jean-Luc Wehinger composes folk songs that reflect the state of his soul, his love for the region of Alsace where he was born and lives today, and his eagerness to help others discover its beauty. Check out his creations on the "Voyageur" CD by the musical formation "Couleur Coton"
